AN ALTITUDE VINEYARD On the foothills of the Pyrenees, the Domaine du Mas Llossanes is located between the towns of Tarerach and Arboussols, two Catalan villages known for their long wine-growing tradition. The 11 hectares of vines form a unique island at an exceptional altitude of 600 meters.

This vineyard, born in the 1940s, takes root on shale and granite soils. This terroir endows its wines with great elegance, freshness and balance. Six indigenous grape varieties make up the Llossanes mosaic: Carignan, Grenache, Syrah, Chenanson, Cinsault and Chasan.

A COUPLE OF PASSIONATE EXPERTS Dominique and Solenn Génot managed a renowned wine estate in Tuscany for more than 10 years, in a climate similar to Roussillon. Several properties now trust Dominique's skills as an independent consultant. Dominique's know-how, an agronomist and oenologist, is perfectly complemented by Solenn's sommelier training. In 2016, it was to fully live their passion for wine that they left their jobs to flourish in the creation of their own estate. After a very selective search, it was the exceptional terroir of Mas Llossanes that they chose to build their future.

BIODYNAMIC CULTURE Since our arrival, the vineyard has benefited from organic and biodynamic cultivation. While banning products of chemical origin, we work the soil, with a tractor and on horseback, we stimulate our vines by adding compost and using biodynamic preparations. Logically, we harvest exclusively by hand. In the cellar, we embrace the same philosophy by limiting interventions and inputs as much as possible: vinification with indigenous yeast, low doses of sulphites on the finished wines, no fining or enzymage or other addition of exogenous products. We give our wines the time they need to mature, whether in vats or barrels. The objective pursued by these technical choices is to best express the personality of this terroir, without ever disguising or masking it.
