INTO THE TEMPLE OF THE DOG...... No need to pretend or make mistakes .... you call me and I can no longer hide myself ...... I have no disguises ...... you say it's bad luck to love you? .... What could I do? ..... When will my moment? ..... While I think about it, call me "Dog", because I slept on the floor ...... after draining a bottle of ROSSO DI VALTELLINA 2017 Barbacan San Giacomo di Teglio farm, @barbacan_sa. 90% Chiavennasca, the balance of native Valtellina grapes grown on historical plots all terraced at about 500/600 meters Fermentation and aging partly in steel and partly in spent barriques for 8 months. Rose petals, small berries, tobacco and light spiciness but above all wild marasca cherries involve the nose and mind. On the palate the sip is fresh and savory, a free-flowing and vegan tannin makes it inviting leading you to a spicy pepper finish. A basic red for every day, but within itself it expresses character and expressive strength making it stimulating and attractive even with important dishes. Angelo Matteo and Luca fight and fight daily their heroic battle on those almost extreme terraces, cultivating Chiavennasca and indigenous local varieties, convinced that the main objective is to donate a healthy product, free from any corruption, clean and sincere just as they are . Rosso Di Valtellina 2017

Local variety of the Nebbiolo grape, it is called Chiavennasca. Very small family run wine estate. All done manually with great attention to details. Base version of their wines already showing great potential.
