Sangiovese - Toscana - Brunello di Montalcino
Fresco ed elegante nella sua palpabile tessitura rustica. Rosa canina e il profumo della prugna appena essiccata al naso. Etereo o meglio,aereo. Serico,non sferico. Nitido e serio ,con la sua tiepida e confortante,tipica unghia arancione. Polpa sgranata di melograno,fondente di fegato,terra viva e visciola sotto spirito. Ruggine e rugiada tutto quanto dentro al sorso del paradiso. Di Manfredi. Un paradiso.
(The picture was taken from internet since I don't have mine anymore) An estate born from Manfredi Martini (passed away few years ago), who had worked for Tenuta Greppo of Biondi Santi, and the wife Fortunata, who bought the Podere Paradiso in the 50s. Manfredi was also among the founders of the Conorzio del Brunello di Montalcino and cultivated his vines with a big respect for nature. 36 months in 26 Hl barrels, natural yeasts and no filtrations. I made this tasting in 2014 and what got me crazy was the intense scent of iodine and sea saltiness, among the classic aromas of tobacco, dark cherries, cinnamon, black pepper and liquorice. This is because the area in which the Vines of Manfredi are, in the past was fully covered by the sea, in fact, if we dig a little bit deeper, we can easily find fossils of Pilocene Era. The mouth is wide, it confirms the balsamic aroma I smelled in the beginning, the tannins are present but well balanced with the warmth of the sip. Long persistence with a lot of vegetal flavours mainly made of aromatic herbs and a pleasant friuty side of red berries jam. The estate is made of 2.5 hectares of vineyards, plus some olive trees and a small cultivation of saffron. A beautiful expression of Tuscany ❤️
Grande brunello, tostatura intensa,molto chiuso ma molto interessante quando l'aria lo fa rivivere. Molto buono
Eleganza, struttura, calore di un vino potente ma ancora discretamente fresco.
