I love the movement happening in northwest Spain where varietals like Albariño and Mencía share the spotlight. In the autonomia of Galicia, vigneron Laura Lorenzo is spearheading the rise of Organic and biodynamic viticulture in the region. In regards to winemaking, she utilizes neutral barrels and native yeast to bring out the true expression of each and every grape. For her Casas de Enribas cuvée, Laura has produced a most delicious bottling from the Mencía grape. Ripe red cherry and raspberry freshness define the aromatic profile of this wine while all of that delicious fruit comes through on the palate. This is such a fun wine and one that I highly recommend you try. Found on the list at Compline in downtown Napa. #deliciousness
