90% nerello mascalese, 10% Carricante - Sicilia - Terre Siciliane IGT
8.2 / $19 / ok, so not really sure you'd call this a rose, even though it's labeled as such. A lot of skin contact, for sure. Definitely the most tannic "rose" I've ever had. Still, it's representative of the rugged Mt. Etna terroir. More cherry than you've ever tasted in a rose. Flinty, hand made, not necessarily agreeable. This a wine that demands attention and respect, and to be heard. But it's not easy. No one said it was gonna be easy. Should never be lumped into the whole frose bs (not knocking frose).... but then I had to think about what this might taste like as a slushy.... and I wanted to try it. It's summer in austin, so a slushy is always worth a try
