The adventure of Terres d’Imaginaire began in April 2022 on 2.7 ha of Chenin in Anjou noir à; Rochefort-sur-Loire.
At the origin of the project, Mathilde, an agronomist and oelologist, almost 10 years in the wine world (Lilian Ladouys, Château Figeac, Stefano Amerighi in Tuscany). After my studies, I learned my skills for 3 years with Sylvain Pataille. À By my side, my husband, Nicolas, a mathematics/computer science engineer who helps me on a daily basis alongside his job.
The wines that inspire us come from the meeting between a place and a winemaker. This is what we want to highlight at this time. through the domain name « Lands of the Imagination. On one side, the earth, our foundation from which our raw material is produced. On the other, the imagination leaves room for creativity, freedom and creativity. and the desire to experiment.
The philosophy of the field:
- Sustainable viticulture, consistent and respectful of nature. We want to restore the synergies between the vine and its environment. We work on the development of microbiological soil life (mechanical work, crushing of vine shoots, sowing of green manure), on the diversity of soils. genetics through mass selection and rootstocks We also have an animal traction project on certain plots. The AB conversion was launched from the start of the project in 2022.
- Above all, we want to make local wines that express the nature of our soils. Work abroad The vine is thus crucial to obtain grapes whose balance will require the minimum of intervention in the cellar. Fermentations are carried out with native yeasts and the wines only receive sulphites if necessary.
New projects: In January 2023, we expanded with 6 hectares of additional vines, still growing. Rochefort with great diversity of rock nature (shales and/or sandstones of different colors, some pudding), exposures, soil texture (sandy loams, clayey sands, clays) and grape varieties (Chenin, Pineau d’Aunis , Sauvignon, Grolleau Gris, Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc). Despite some plots are a little aging, we wereé seduced by the great potential of the place. Starting next year, we will begin a project to restructure the vineyard around Chenin, Pineau d'Aunis, Grolleau and perhaps Pinot noir. Mario, joined us at the beginning of the year to support us on a daily basis on the production side.
