JP Bleeke, a rising star in natural winemaking based in the Mosel, Germany, has forged a unique path into the world of wine. After a stint selling cars and armed with a background in marketing and management, JP transitioned to the wine realm. His diverse experiences, including a year at a conventional winery in New Zealand, helped shaped his unconventional approach to winemaking.

Drawn to natural wine for its reverence for terroir and tradition, JP cultivates 3.5 hectares of Riesling, Müller Thurgau, Dornfelder, Pinot Noir, and Sauvignon. Embracing a hands-on philosophy, every aspect of his winemaking, from harvesting to bottling, is meticulously done by hand. The objective is to craft structured wines with freshness and lower alcohol content. Time is his ally, without rushing, he can make the best wines.

A standout initiative is JP's Community-supported agriculture group, SoLaWino, boasting 85 members. This subscription model allows enthusiasts from all around Europe to take part in the full cycle of winemaking, from pruning to harvesting. Together they integrate winemaking, agroforestry & share knowledge - all within a transparent operation that results in a share of the bottles produced and good times spent together.

Acknowledging the challenges of organic farming, JP finds security in this communal venture. The shared risks and rewards foster a symbiotic relationship, ensuring JP can continue his commitment to clean and sustainable farming practices. Not stopping there, JP is initiating a community Amphora project, and envisions a network of similar ventures across Europe. His aspirations include traveling, collaborating with inspiring individuals, and imparting sustainable farming practices to a broader audience. JP Bleeke's journey exemplifies a harmonious blend of tradition, innovation, and community spirit in the world of natural winemaking.

Most importantly though, the fruits of his labor result in exceptional wines. Highly recommended for enthusiasts seeking a taste of the unique terroir of the Mosel. Cheers!
