Inspiration takes shape in an extraordinary location: the Berici Hills, in the area of Barbarano Mossano. This enchanting landscape becomes the ideal setting to cultivate the ambitious project of producing exceptional wines, maximizing the territory’s potential.
Our mission is to create products that tell stories and perspectives. Through experimentation, exploration, and creativity, Adagio aims to engage with diverse and creative minds, embracing a world view rich in nuances.
The essence of Adagio lies in this unique perspective, where wine becomes the symbol of an exciting journey between passion and territory.
In the vineyard, our commitment and effort are to follow a sustainable and low-intervention farming approach that goes beyond the parameters of organic agriculture, for which we already have certification. We are reducing the use of sulfur and especially copper, replacing them with algae and mycorrhizae to stimulate the plants' self-defense, trying to anticipate problems as much as possible. We do not use herbicides and work the soil to control vegetation.
The grape harvest is done manually, ensuring special attention to each cluster. Currently, we do not irrigate, but we are considering it for emergency cases.
To counteract wildlife, we rely solely on deterrent methods and physical protection.
We would like to further reduce the overall number of interventions.
In the winery, fermentations are spontaneous to respect the characteristics of the vintage and the work done in the vineyard. In some cases, we use a “pied de cuve”, while in others, fermentation occurs en masse, without the addition of substances that alter the original characteristics. Sulfites are added at the bottling stage, remaining below 30 mg/liter for both whites and reds. We do not use filtration. This approach allows us to offer an authentic wine that reflects the purity and integrity of our territory.
Adagio is not just about producing wine; it is a passionate narrative that celebrates the love for ideas, places, and moments, shaped through the artisanal production of wine and extra virgin olive oil with a careful and respectful gaze toward the beauty of the land that nourishes it.
Our winery is located in Barbarano Mossano, south of Vicenza. Our vineyards are located in three different, but not far from each other, places: Villaga, Barbarano Vicentino and Mossano. In total, we’ve got 6.5 hectares, 2.5 vineyard, 1.5 olive trees, and 2 hectares of forest. We cultivate local grapes such as Garganega and Tai Rosso, some international ones like Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay and we’ve got also a small vineyard of Ribolla Gialla. Sometimes we buy some grapes from local producers who share our principles
