Cristiano, Anna and Alice: Terre di Pietra is us. Our hands and our heart.
The company was founded in 2007 in a small garage in the hills of upper Valpolicella.
With the construction of the new cellar in Marcellise in 2011 our journey towards natural wines began, which was completed in 2017 with the entry into Vinnatur, the natural winemakers association.
Terre di Pietra today is a living company, close to the environment, the territory and tradition.
We produce around 25,000 bottles a year and the 6 hectares of vineyards are located in different locations in the province of Verona. The wines that best represent us are those dedicated to our 5 Crus: each vineyard has its own label, which becomes the pure expression of the territory in which it is located, with the characteristics given by its land, the exposure, the altitude, the microclimate.
The work is purely manual both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Treatments are reduced to a minimum: when necessary we use sulphur, propolis, chestnut tannin and biomit (given from plant extracts), but we favor natural treatments such as careful defoliation and the sexual confusion method. In the cellar the fermentations are spontaneous and without temperature control, we prefer cement to steel and wood, and the added sulfur never exceeds 1 g/hl during refinement and 1 g/hl at bottling. Pruning, harvesting, punching, bottling: everything is the work of our hands, we do not use machinery. We carry on ancient traditions, and to do so we let nature guide us.
