Style? macerated Indie & Alternative ;-) What is Projekt: Wildtyp all about? - To bring back the dazzling diversity of tastes and sensual enjoyment into the world of more and more standardized wines from all across our planet. The combination of microorganisms, flora, fauna and the vines are unique for every single vineyard. So why making interchangeable wines? Beside the literal meaning of a ‘wild type’ as a wild person or a thing, the term actually comes from genetics (my abandoned profession) where it stands for an unchanged, unmodified form of any living organism (bacteria, yeast, plant, animal) - as it would appear in the wild nature. This is my ideal. Thus, to reach this ideal, I refrain from using any of the allowed (may it be naturally-produced or artificially-generated) additives like yeasts, enzymes, chemicals or filtration techniques. Very low sulfur additions – far below the limit and only when necessary – are allowed. All the work with the vine plants is done exclusively manually. The tractor is only used for the soil cultivation (we seed organically-grown wild plants between the rows) and for about 50% of the plant protection management. The rest is done manually using a portable spraying device.
