A place steeped in history, in the heart of a green valley, the Cher valley. We are lucky to live there since 2021 and work hard to make our dreams come true! At the confluence of three departments (Creuse, Allier and Puy de Dôme) and two regions (Auvergne-Rhône Alpes and Nouvelle-Aquitaine) the Moulin de Rameau is not only a very old water mill ( before 1789) but was also a historic place of conviviality (local and generous restaurant renowned in the region!). Lots of life, sharing and work in this place…. we want to live up to it, bring it back to life and pay homage to those who came before us!
Sébastien grew up in Vendée, in a family of real Earthlings. At 18, he left the family farm to study thermal and energy engineering in the high-level sports section (rugby) at INSA, a school located on the outskirts of Lyon. At the end of a long course, he has the opportunity to complete and validate his doctorate in collaboration with Eurocave. This is how, in addition to drinking wine in the evening, he will anchor a solid footing in the wonderful and complex field of wine. At 30, Sébastien questions everything, listens to his deep desires and begins a career change. It was during a BTS in viticulture-oenology that he combined theoretical learning with the discovery of several estates and different wine-growing regions (Burgundy: Domaine LEFLAIVE Puligny-Montrachet; Beaujolais: Domaine ALONSO; Puy-de-Dôme: NO CONTROL domain).
Instinctively, he is attracted to working techniques on a human scale, with a minimum of mechanical intervention, linked to the cycles of nature, respectful of the grapes, the environment and our dear bodies! He will be won over by the honesty of natural wines. He therefore moved to Le Moulin with the firm intention of giving birth to wines that were truer than nature! He also whispers to us that this adventure can fully come to life, thanks to the support and help provided by Nawal...
A big desire to make natural wine in Creuse, you understood! While waiting to plant his own vines on the hillside of Moulin, Sébastien found some good grapes, 90% very local (Combronde in 63 and Saint-Pourçain in 03) and organic or last year of organic conversion. The remaining 10% traveled from Beaujolais where he maintains an almost filial link with his first nature course supervisor! In 2022, several vintages were born (sparkling, red, rosé, white). All, unfiltered and without added inputs or sulphites.
No orange wines at the moment.
