Les Maisons Rouges: Bottles Full of Passion and Terroir
With nine beautiful hectares of biodynamically farmed land, Les Maisons Rouges is more than just a vineyard—it's a love affair with the art of winemaking.
What began with Elisabeth et Benoît Jardin in 1994 and flourished with the addition of their son in law Julien Peltier in 2015 has evolved into a vineyard where every vine is nurtured naturally, free from synthetic chemicals, allowing the terroir to express itself in its purest form.
At Les Maisons Rouges, the focus is on letting the land’s unique mineral character shine through. With small, carefully managed yields of just 25 hl/ha, every grape embodies the essence of the vineyard, resulting in wines that are as distinctive as they are delicious.
They produce exceptional late harvest, dry Chenin whites and spicy reds from their principal grape variety Pineau d'Aunis, each wine is aged in their tuffeau cellar, a unique limestone found in the Loire Valley.
For them, winemaking is a lifelong journey. As they fine-tune their craft, they remain committed to letting the wine speak for itself, believing that every bottle is not just a product, but a gift—one that captures the heart and soul of Les Maisons Rouges.
