Brutal - Gut Oggau - Stephanie & Eduard Tscheppe-EselböckSexy and powerful. One of those wines that changes the game. Bright, fresh, light, crisp, yet with juicy acidity that leaves you with a long finish and persistent spiciness. Easily one of the most memorable wines I've ever had.
More wines on my Instagram: ➡️ @marcel.de.cocq Brutal!!! 2017 (Gut Oggau) 🍇 100% Roesler ▫️ Wow, Gut Oggau's Brutal 🤯. Yes it is legendary. ▫️ This time Gut Oggau's Brutal is a really exciting natural and stable rosé, with finesse. It's made from the Roesler grape variety, a bit of a rare and obscure Austrian Zweigelt crossbreed that was created in the 70's. ▫️ Expressive and refreshing Austrian wine like a crystal clear mountain stream. Concentrated, but forward young red fruits like Strawberries, raspberries and some red currant have a good play in the foreground and a bit more remote there are some nice grapefruit bitters. With some imagination I can also think of these fruity yogurt like toffee sweets, which is a funny element. ▫️ Beautiful, raw and clean at the same time, with a cool, dominant and somewhat undefined funky barn like earthiness. Beyond that it has an enriching, quite dominant and ongoing mineral energy that feels a bit smokey and refers a bit to this "gun powder" like smell of some Jura wines. Something that came also forward in the also Austrian "Werlitsch Morillon" I had last weekend. ▫️ It has a light little fizz, pleasent acidity and for for a further, to me, a light wine it has a nice body and mouthfeel too. ▫️ I'm happy I have a few extra bottles to celebrate more these early sunny spring days with. 😄 ▫️ Rating: 😣 [* * * * * * * * ⭐ *] 😁 ▫️ I bought this wine from: wildewijnen ▫️ Facts I found online: "Roesler is a red Austrian wine grape developed in 1970 by Dr Gertraud Meyer at Höhere Bundeslehranstalt und das Bundesamt für Wein- und Obstbau in Klosterneuburg, Austria. It is named after Leonard Rösler, head of Austria’s oldest viticultural college. ▫️ It is a crossing of Zweigelt, Seyve-Villard 18-402 and Blaufränkisch. It is unusual it that it has pink flesh (a teinturier variety). It has high extract, high resistance against fungal disease and is also frost resistant (said to be able to withstand temperatures down to -25 degrees celsius)."
Finished this beauty of a wine in like 5 mins. Wild strawberrys and forest notes.
D'abord, il faut bien l'aérer, sinon une certaine acidité prend le dessus. Après c'est un vrai bijou qui descend tout seul.
À propos
Juicy, powerfull, nice acidity and very long at the end. Some spices and again the fruit, that lasts. Very much glouglou.
